Nit de Falles

As fallas ainda não começaram oficialmente, mas a cidade está já inundada de enormes esculturas de madeira. Fui de noite pela curiosidade de as ver conjugadas com as luzes e pelo prazer de observar o processo de montagem. Há algo mágico nas fallas: pela carga cultural que têm, pela forma como envolvem e emocionam as gentes de aqui e aos turistas que aos poucos começam a chegar. Cheira a pólvora e a buñuelos - ja estem en falles!

Even though Fallas haven't officially started yet, the city is already filled with huge wood esculptures. I went last night by the sheer curiosity of seeing them with the lights and for the pleasure of observing the process of putting them together. There's something magical about fallas: the way they touch the valencian people and the vibe they give to the city - ja estem en falles!
